Kicking off the action was Central Coast hosting Melbourne Victory. The Victorian side were clear favourites but lost 2-0 in what was a convincing performance from the home side.

Melbourne Heart took to the AAMI Park on Saturday night and conducted their first win of the season over North Queensland. Nick Kalmar netted the match-winning goal in the 11th minute, with neither team able to break through for the remainder of the game.

The upset of the weekend saw Sydney FC lose at home to Adelaide United, and lose dramatically. The defending title-holders lost 3-1 and are sitting at the bottom of the ladder without a win under their belt this season.

The impressive victory for United sees them head to the top of the ladder based on alphabetical order, level in points and goal difference with Perth Glory.

Glory were impressive on Sunday afternoon, netting a 2-1 win over Wellington Phoenix to continue their solid form this season.

The Gold Coast United were out of action this week, making the most of their bye. They will return to playing next round when they face table-toppers Perth on Sunday afternoon.

Week six will kick-off this Friday night at the Bluetongue Stadium, when the Central Coast welcome Melbourne Heart for their fixture.
