A-League Week Three Results

August 23rd, 2010

Round three of the 2010-11 A-League season took to the pitches of Australia over the weekend, and resulted in plenty of punters raking in the wins at Ladbrokes.com.au.

Kicking off the soccer action, Adelaide United welcomed Melbourne Heart to the Hindmarsh Stadium on Friday night. United headed into the match as favourites at $2.20 with Ladbrokes.com.au, and came away with all three points in a game of superb goals.

Mathew Leckie started the scoring early for the home side, finding the back of the net in the first two minutes. Rutger Worm claimed the equaliser just before half-time, and saw the Heart head into the dressing rooms confident they could claim the win.

Iain Ramsay had other ideas. The Adelaide midfielder scored two in the second half, with the winner being just two minutes from full time.

Perth Glory claimed a one-nil win over the Newcastle Jets on Saturday afternoon, with the three points sending them clear at the top of the ladder.

Melbourne Victory and North Queensland Fury finished on a two goal stalemate on Sunday afternoon. It was a scrappy game to say the least, with the Fury reduced to 10 men after Chris Grossman was sent off in the 30th minute.

Of the four goals, three were penalties. Skipper for the Victory Kevin Muscat, booted two for his side, while Chris Payne converted his spot kick eight minutes from time to equalise.

Round four of the 2010-11 A-League Season will kick off on Friday evening when the Brisbane Roar welcomes the Wellington Phoenix to the Suncorp Stadium.

The Gold Coast will return to action on Sunday after their bye, so make sure you head to Ladbrokes.com.au before kick-off so you can make the most of the soccer betting action this weekend!
