The Hyundai A-League is about to embark on its sixth season as the elite tier of national soccer in Australia, and will certainly be on the tip of soccer fans’ tongues as the league continues to grow.

The 2010-11 Hyundai A-League Season will kick-off on the 5th of August, and culminating on the 13th of February next year, may seem a while away to wager on – but punters should get in now as are offering some handsome early odds!

Sydney FC enter the season as defending champions and are at $3.40 to regain the title, and could be a firm bet with praise heading their way from the likes of international Tim Cahill after Everton played them.

Melbourne Victory, last season’s runners up and the 2008-09 seasons Champions, are at $4 for the win, and are certainly deserving of their odds after some impressive pre season triumphs.

The Victory are always strong contenders, boasting the likes of Archie Thompson – the Socceroo to have scored the most ever goals in an international fixture when he booted 13 against American Samoa.

With former Premier League player Robbie Fowler in their midst, Perth Glory are at $7.50, and last season’s third placed finishers Gold Coast United are at $10 for the upcoming championship.

A potentially very lucrative punt is backing the newest addition to the A-League, the Melbourne Hearts, who could potentially be this season’s dark horse at $10 after a convincing performance against Everton.

With the likes of international players Michael Beauchamp, Josip Skoko and John Aloisi, the Hearts have the talent; it is just down to whether or not they are prepared as a whole outfit.

Despite finishing seventh at the end of last season, the North Queensland Fury is rounding out the odds for the market at $34 for the title.

With Mark Hughes, a former Everton and Walsall player a new addition to the side this season, along with the young Indigenous Aussie David Williams who is touted to be the best talent from down under since Harry Kewell – they could be a considerable bet.

So if you want to pledge your loyalty to your favourite A-League side in the upcoming season, or just want to have a look at the latest odds on offer, head to while the early market odds are still highly lucrative!
